ACTOR TRAINING

Since 2005, I’ve taught and directed extensively for East 15 Acting School and from 2015 - 2019 I was a permanent member of the school’s teaching and directing staff. I’ve directed over 30 ensemble productions for E15, including the UK premieres of Will Eno’s ‘Middletown’ and Sarah Ruhl’s adaptation of ‘Orlando’. You can explore examples of this work by clicking the images below.

I’ve led learning modules for East 15 Acting School in ‘Acting Shakespeare’; ‘Acting Chekhov’, ‘Acting 20th C. Realist Drama’, ‘Acting Contemporary Drama’, ‘Improvisation Technique’, and learner-driven new work development modules with festival outputs. All at BA and MA level (2013 – 2019).

In 2009 I produced and facilitated a week-long intensive Shakespeare training programme for the Royal Exchange Theatre, which enabled students from Arden School of Theatre, Manchester Met University and the University of Salford to rehearse and perform Shakespeare scenes alongside Pete Postlethwaite and the cast of the RET’s ‘The Tempest’ within the Theatre-in-the Round.

In 2021 I led five Acting the Play (Online) evening courses for Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, enabling mixed-ability adult learners from across the world to experience ensemble rehearsal and performance through the use of digital technologies.
